Este Meu Fado is the new album of the 22 years old singer Daisy Correia. On her debut-fado album we hear a talented girl that proves that her change of style is a very logical thing. The ten songs on the album fit her perfectly as she dares to be different, not imitating other fadista’s but doing ‘her own thing’ in a way that make possible future clouds dissapear immediately. Right from the start of the album the feelgood fadosong Sete Rosas we know there’s joy in the way Daisy performs her songs. Driven by her great energy and helped by the beautiful songwriting of Fernando Lameirinhas and others including people who have worked with Mariza, we hear great fados on Este Meu Fado, like the well known Cancao do Mar. There’s power in her voice in Lameirinhas’ Vendedor de Sonhos and Zanguei-me com o Meu Amor and stilled beauty in songs like Chuva and the lovely piano-supported Madrugada.
